I later went to the library and looked up every issue of the ''muskegon chronicle'' and found that on that particular date ( I do believe at least 20 years previouse) a woman had apparently committed suicide up at the blockhouse by shooting herself .
There has been more reported crime and tragedy and I'm sure more has happened there long before the chronicle existed being so close to the lake it would have been where the Native Americans would

have been heavily populated due too how close it was to the lake .

Comment by Adam: Yes this was true. I believe it was 1996 maybe a little before that. I knew the victim. I have heard of several reports of strange occurrences there since 1999.
