I lived in a haunted house on Laporte Road in New Buffalo. I was a teenager when we moved in and left when I was 21. You couldn't pay me to stay the night by myself. It was probably built in the early 1900s, and I was told it had been a doctor's office. It was haunted by a lady in a blue dress who would swish by you.
The house had a big room upstairs, and the lady ghost would come gliding down the stairs. My dad would ask her to have a cup of coffee

with him. One time I was home by myself, and someone turned the stereo on full blast in the back bedroom. Then they kept changing the stations. I also
|
heard old fashion music coming from the bedroom.
My mother heard a lady crying, but she put a Jesus picture up with a night light, and the crying stopped. I was always fascinated by the house. My mother loved the house, but my dad hated it, and he ended up dying in it. It was haunted for sure.
The house isn't there anymore. All that's left is the big Christmas tree. They built a McDonald's and a hotel on the land that went with the house. The place
