When I was a little girl my mom used to send us kids to Camp Oakland which I don't believe exists anymore. It was located somewhere around Drahner Rd east from m-24. One night the counselors took us on this camping trip. I was awoken in the middle of the night by what sounded like Native American drumming followed by war calls. I was terrified. I tried to awake a friend and she wouldn't wake up. I looked out of the tent to see if maybe the counselors

were messing around but I could see the shadows of everyone in their tents by the fire light.
I was too afraid to come outside the tent to rouse

the counselors so I just laid back down to try and fall asleep. The noise seemed to go on for hours though. The next day a guide took us to lines of pine trees all planted in perfect rows the same distance apart. The guide told us this was an Indian burial ground and that this tribe believed that if you planted a tree over the body that the soul would rise to the top as the tree grew and eventually get to heaven. I really do not know how true that is
