In the summer of 1987 my then-boyfriend and I saw a dark figure of a man in Fordney Park on several different occasions. He was dressed in a long black coat, black pants, and dress shoes. He would appear across the park. Then seconds later he would be only feet away from us. We would sometimes hear his footsteps and look, and there he would be, but his steps were oddly out of sync with the sound of the footsteps.
Once we saw him next to a tree, and I told my boyfriend ''look, there he is,'' and he appeared in arms length of us and passed right through a group of kids playing like they were not even there. The kids did not seem to see him. OMG, did we run. This was the only time we saw him during the day, and I remember not seeing a face, just the hood of the cloak-like coat. He came toward us in a swooping way whenever we saw him.

Before we'd see him it was always the out of sync footsteps and then the odd way of walking when we looked up. Then he'd be ten feet away from us even if he started out all the way across the park. No person could travel that fast. I always wondered if anyone else ever experienced anything paranormal at Fordney Park, or heard of anything happening there that could offer an explanation. Thirty years later this still freaks me out.

I've heard of the lady in white. Appears floating with a glow around her. And I heard she was killed in the shed behind the row of trees in the right corner way in the back. Heard cars stall and it makes you wonder.
