Ever since I can remember I've heard stories of St. Charles being haunted. I was born and lived here for 23 years. I have personally seen ghosts when I was carp fishing on the Bad River which runs right through the heart of town.
Legend has it the old Kendall funeral home used to drain all the blood and other bodily fluids right into the river along with the souls of the dead. The ghost that I've seen multiple times was tall, wide, bearded, wearing

over-alls and a flannel.

After my step father passed away, I went to stay with my youngest brother. About a week after the funeral we were sitting in the living room when we heard the door in the kitchen open and shut. Oh course we went to see what was going on.
There was no one there. As night came about one of my young sons told me that grandpa wants to play a game. I had to explain that grandpa passed away and wasn't here. My son then told me to look he's at the kitchen table right now.
