There are rumors that for years a witches coven flourishes in Whitehall. Besides animal sacrifice humans have been sacrificed, usually people not from the area. Some of their old meeting places may have been the old boy scout camp at Duck Lake (where a scout was found murdered and tied to a tree in the 1950s), a resort on scenic drive, and the now developed sand dunes.
Does anyone have any information? Or are you afraid to say anything because something

may happen to you?.

They say that the ghost of a Victorian woman named Miss Mary haunts South Shore drive. She can be seen walking down S. Shore Dr. in the black dresses and hats she wore while alive and always with her cane.
She has begun appearing in recent years over unrest that the woods behind the old houses was turned into a subdivision. It was her wish that these woods which were holy to the local Indians would never be disturbed.
