The house on Moore Road in Avon Lake is a home I grew up in on a regular basis most of my childhood. I say most because the house didn't always sit on the lot on Moore Road. The house was built in the early 1950s and sat on Lake Road in Avon Lake. That lot on Lake is a vacant lot where Electric Boulevard, Moore Road, and Lake Road meet. It was built by Sam. He and his wife Emma lived there with a daughter Sandra. Sam was a lifelong resident born in the

early 1900s. He did well for himself, owned, and operated Avon Lake's first drive inn restaurant and bar. Emma passed away in the house in the mid 1970s.

Sam followed suit passing away in the mid 1980s also in the house. Emma passed in the master bedroom, the room at the end of the ball to the left. Sam passed in the living room sleeping on his sofa.
After Sam passed his daughter inherited everything including the house. For years prior to Sam passing a few shifty local builders would persist with trying to get Sam to sell the property his house was on. He would always tell them to get lost!
