I was sipping a shake in the car when I looked up and saw Jimmy staring back at me in the rearview mirror. I dropped the shake and spun around; the back seat was empty. I jumped out of the car, afraid an attacker was hiding there, but the seat was empty. I tore the door open, nobody! I saw two green mints on the seat, and my eyes filled with tears. Jimmy always sucked on the mints. It was a mint lodged in his throat as he played tennis that triggered

the heart attack that killed him. I figured the mints were something he dropped earlier. I reached out to pick them up, but they disappeared. The seat

felt warm and a voice, not sure if it was in my head, or out loud, said ''It's ok, I'm ok. You can let go. '' It took me a few hours before I got back in that car. Did he come say goodbye? Or did my mind play tricks on me?.
