I stayed at my grandparents farm in Columbus Grove a lot as a kid. There were always things to do there but it was on a rural route road so there weren't many neighbors. One night my grandpa was out-of-town and I was alone with my grandma.
There is no noise in the country at night and it's eerie. I couldn't sleep so I got up in the middle of the night and went out into the living room. There were no lights on except a couple of nightlights and it was creepy.

really wanted to turn on the TV but my grandma was strict and I was afraid I'd wake her up and maker her angry if I did. I wandered through the house

feeling scared and incredibly uncomfortable until I came back to the TV.
I was staring at the blank screen longingly until I caught a reflection in the window glass behind it. It was dark and blurry but it sure wasn't my reflection! It wasn't even human-looking! Since the window looked out over the porch I knew whatever it was was only about two feet away.
I skedaddled back to my grandma's room and crawled in bed beside her hiding in the blankets.
