I used to live in Elyria and I still love the city. I am a believer of ghosts and have had a lot of experiences with them. I was visiting the hickories Museum on Washington Avenue. I was with my mom, brother, and sister during the summer visiting the museum.
The tour guide was showing us around. (we were the only people there) we went upstairs passing Arthur garford's and his wife's bedroom when we got to the hallway. I walked pass a window with a bookshelf attached to the wall.

I saw a small black figure walking behind me in the glare of the window. I turned around and saw the figure run into the bookshelf and disappear. My brother went there with his third grade class A few years before then and said he was walking around with his friend when they go to the top floor.

They were standing in front of the attic stairs (which used to be the ball room) when they saw a tall white ghost walk up the stairs, turn around and stare at them for two minutes, then walk up to the top and disappear.
I love going to the museum, but every time you go, the tour guide tells you something different. I know that Arthur garford died right when he got in the house, but they don't tell you how. Louise garford, the youngest daughter, lives in California.
Rumor has it, she won't talk about the history of the house, or how everyone died. The Lorain county historical society won't tell you either. And, if you want to research it at the library, you have to get permission, and sit in a small room in the library.
