I was hiking in the Englewood metro parks one late summer evening in 2008. I was on the north side of the park by the Patty's Falls area. I was about a quarter mile into my hike at about 7:30 pm when something caught my eye at about fifty yards to my right. I am a former law enforcement officer and current military, so I pay close attention to detail and movement. I was hoping it was a deer or something that would make a nice photograph for my collection.

I could not have been more wrong as I would later discover. About another a hundred to a hundred-fifty yards into my hike I heard the sound of underbrush

rustling again about thirty-five to forty yards to my right. I then put myself in a position behind a tree so that I may be able to see what it was that I felt was either following me or just wanting me to notice it.
About ten minutes went by and nothing. This continued for about another two hundred yards or so. I would hear the noise but not see anything. I then headed downhill, so I could perhaps lure this noise into a more open and cleared section
