used to be there where the road did a little jog and a no trespassing sign right after the farmhouse. Well, my buddy and I didn't have a lot of common sense back then and drove on past the sign. We followed the trail to where it ended at the ruins of some old house that only had the chimney standing and the foundation.

looking place I had ever seen, but was more curious than afraid. Like an idiot, I shut off the car to get a better look and conserve gas. My buddy didn't

cuss at all before that night, and he asked me, ''What the **** are you doing?'' I couldn't respond because I was doubled over laughing because I had never heard my best friend cuss before. It was all pretty funny to me until a chill hit the back of my leg that hit my spine and made me shiver on that warm October night.
I never turned off the lights on my Vega, and the battery wasn't exactly prime, and of course the car wouldn't start. I shut
