In the summer of 1984 my friends and I rented the house next door to the newly opened ''Sharpy's Subs'' which was next door to Dubois Book Store. The house was on Lincoln Ave. It was on the corner of Lincoln and Summit. The house was white and had a great front porch but it was creepy as are most old houses that actually had trees growing in the basement. My roommate's mother wouldn't even come in the door because the house gave her the creeps. The

last time I drove through Kent, it was gone. It had a great porch, and we only lived there for two and a half months!
Without a doubt I know there

were ghosts in that house, but I never got freaked out. My room was attached to the attic. One sunny afternoon day I was reading in bed when the attic door just suddenly opened slowly. OK, it must be the wind, but there was no wind. It was really hot and humid, and the air was very still. I thought an unusual breeze must have been blowing in the attic. Ten minutes later the door slowly closed, just like it opened. No way was that the breeze.
