I lived on the side road going towards Duck Creek Road, and I have to say that every night that whole road felt completely off and uneasy. I heard stories growing up about a man who lived on that road in the 1800s who was killed right on that road because of some parents falsely accusing him of killing the family's live stock. They shot him in the middle of the road and then buried him on both sides of the street.

For years during my high school days (I graduated in 2001) friends and I frequented a road which intersects Duck Creek Road in N. Jackson. A story had been passed along through the generations of a strange ghostly light appearing along the road. In the story there was a series of ''steps'' needed to be taken in order to see the ''ghost light''. Being kids and interested in phenomenon, we set out to see if we would have an experience as well. I can tell you one thing for sure every time we went out there and followed the directions told to us, we saw an orb of glowing greenish-blue light along with a very unsettling feeling. I have no idea when this started occurring or for how long it had, but it seems like from the stories that it may have been going on for a very long time.

The sequence of events beforehand that we followed were simple enough. First turn onto the road. Second turn on your high beams or ''brights''. Third drive as slow as possible down the road and turn around at the first possible drive. Fourth again drive as slow as possible back towards the intersection, and then pull off when approaching the stop sign. Fifth pull off onto the shoulder of the road and wait patiently. Like I said every single time we did this at the far end of the road from which we turned around, a light would slowly start to appear.
It looked at first just like someone slowly walking down the street with a bluish-green light. Although as it made its way down toward us, you could clearly see that it was simply an orb floating down the road. No other people around it would float at about the pace of a walking person and at about the height of the center mass of a person. It worked so much like clockwork that sometimes we would try the process more than once in a night. As the orb approached, everyone would feel an uneasiness until more times than not we would leave before it got within about 100 yards of us.
One time we went out and agreed that no matter what we would let the orb fully approach to see what would occur. This particular time there was a difference from the very beginning of its appearance. Not only did it show in its normal colors pulsating, but this time there was also an orange orb about a third of its size (the ''normal'' one being about basketball size, I'd say). It rotated around the larger orb.
