This is very true and not something we made up, just unexplained things that still puzzle me and I think back to from time to time.

When I was a small child, there was a house we lived in on north Street - I believe the address was 210 E. North Street. Anyways, there were sliding doors that would open and close on their own, strange voices, wicked laughs.
My bed was at the end of the hall off of the kitchen next to the bathroom - it scared the hell out of me that one night I heard a creepy voice. I looked down that little hallway. I found it mesmerizing that I could see the backdoor slamming open and shut, the light from the fridge door opening, and closing making the light go on and off, cabinet doors opening and closing, the water going on and off, wash cloths and pot holders flying around the kitchen table all while there were laughs, screams, and wicked laughs.
On top of all of that - the weird part is that as long as I closed my eyes, I couldn't see or hear any of it! And I could tell more about other oddities in that house.. Another time.

Comment by Kimberly: Hello Aejh,

We have lived in the 200 block of East North Street since 1987. I am wondering if instead of 210 East North you instead lived at 212. This location is the 2nd house east of the alley whereas 210 is right on the alley.

The reason I am asking is that, in my opinion, every family who has lived at 212 seemed to have problems. People move in and everything seems normal, but within a year or two the family starts to fall apart.

Over the years two of the moms confided in me that they kept seeing a female apparition either on the stairs, upstairs, or at the back of the house. Another common thread was that they felt that this spirit did not like them and wanted them out of the house.

First and foremost, I am not the neighborhood busybody. However it was hard to ignore the fact that the couples living there would start out walking down the sidewalk all lovey-dovey holding hands, but then a year later would be on the front porch screaming obscenities at each other. Then the usual scenario would happen, the couple would go their separate ways.

Out of the 6 to 8 families who have been at 212 over the last 30 years I can think of at least 5 whose homelife seems to have imploded. Since I don’t know any of the specific details of what happened, maybe I’m adding 2 plus 2 and coming up with 5. But it does seem strange that it is rare for a family to have a peaceful existence at 212 East North Street.

Take Care,
Kimberly.
