porch about 100 yards uphill to the gravel pad where we parked our cars. We found the window up. I was soaked and aggravated, but as I turned to run back to the house the large old tree between the parking and the house snapped at the top and a huge branch broke off.
I swear it almost fell on me had I not fallen and slid on my backside down the hill. I would have been under the branch when it fell. Not much later my ex walked up to the house and

scared me. I was accustomed to hearing his truck pull up when he got home, but that day he had to walk, and I was not expecting him because he was early.

He said there were trees down blocking the road in both directions about a mile from the house, so he had parked and walked up to get me. He said there had been reports of a tornado touchdown in the area, and he came early to check on me and the house. I had no idea because there was horrible radio reception in that area. They did not run cable lines that far, so we had no TV or phones either. At that point though I was convinced that something crazy was going
