I would come to face. I don't know how long I waited. I was terrified. I was listening to the thud of my heart beat and the rattle of the door in my ears. ''Just one of the cats. '' I whispered over and over like a prayer. ''Just a cat. Just a cat. Just a-'' The light switched on, illuminating the porch hidden behind the cloth of the curtains. With the light came the still quiet, and I was frozen. In front of my face, just behind the curtain was the shadow

of a tall man.
I don't know if I screamed or what. All I remember is falling back and grabbing my mom as I looked up to see the shadow was gone.

I don't know what I would have seen had I pulled the curtains back. All I know is even after typing this, remembering the details of that night, I still feel too scared to even sleep. My family still doesn't believe me. .

I grew up in a house on race St. The two upstairs rooms were all mine. One night a couple of years after we had moved in I woke up got a glass of water and was about to go back to bed when I saw this really bright flash of light by my bed along with a loud unnatural noise.
