I lived in a house on Rice Street growing up in the 500 block of Rice Street. The people that lived in the above apartment upstairs played a devil board game which brought spirits in the house. Lights would flicker; doors would slam shut. There were cold chills in rooms out of nowhere. It felt like someone was rubbing my hair. Chairs would move. I heard echoes of laughter in the basement, and no one was there. We decided to find a better home without

spirits scaring us. I never went back to visit that area since.

I lived in a haunted house for three years at a home on the 26-hundred-block on Maplewood Avenue in Springfield, Ohio. I saw dark shadows in different areas of the house. Doors would open and close by themselves. The stairway wood banister would unhinge, and the wood would poke and cut skin when holding onto it. Lights would flicker, and out of nowhere the house made loud creek sounds.
I heard a rumor that the house was once a funeral home back when it was first built. Then two or three years after I moved out of that house some lady was living in it. Well, that house on Maplewood caught on fire. Thank goodness that lady that lived there was at work and safe. The owners said the cause of the fire was from a cheap extension cord plugged into a computer in an old house with an old outdated glass fuse box.
The fire was so bad they had to demolition it. The only thing left standing on the property is a bright red storage shed to the rear of the yard. The owners had that old maple tree cut down that stood in the front yard. The tree stump is still there, and there's still maple sap leaking from the tree trunk. I drive by there once in a while. I have moved out of that area due to that crime rate and the houses over there looking rundown. Glad I moved.
