After graduating in 1951 he worked in the family meat business his political career began in 1973 when he served on the school board. He was elected to city council in 1977 and took office in 1978.
In may of 1978 he was appointed upon the current mayor's resignation. He transformed Strongsville into the city it is today. He was reelected six times and served for 25 years. Sadly he passed away in may 2003 at the age of 70 from cancer. The

city's covered bridge the recreation and senior center the soccer complex and post office all bear his name. His presence is sometimes felt in city hall

which is believed to be a good omen by many. 3. A noise that sounds like a bunch of people talking can be heard in the old town hall. Perhaps a long overdue meeting? In addition cold spots have been felt and mysterious happenings have occurred in the historical society. Submitted by Pete
