I moved into my house almost six years ago. Nothing happened in the first six months, and even when it started they were so minute I did not really take notice. After a year had passed, I started noticing, but my haunting is not scary. It is almost calming. The first things that happened were a little scary, but by no means terrifying.
One day I was cleaning the house, and my dog, a Rottweiler mix, was sitting and staring at the wall between the dining room and the kitchen. She was just sitting there staring, with her head low and her ears back. Then she cocked her head to the side, perked her ears and barked. She then ran and grabbed her favorite toy and dropped in front of the wall, barked again and took her ''play'' stance. She has done this many times in the time we have lived here but less and less each year. There have been other things over the years, for example, the door to the basement opening and closing on its own, lights turning themselves off or on, and candles lighting themselves. However, the strangest things were always in the dining room or kitchen. The day I came home to all the kitchen cabinets being open was, to say the very least, freaky.

I live alone. So why am I not scared you may ask? I feel nothing threatening. To the contrary, there have been times that my ''unseen'' roommate has been comforting. There have been numerous and uncountable times when I have felt very blue or depressed and suddenly a warm feeling will pass through me. It is very quick, but it makes me feel comforted, and I feel, well, loved. I always smell flowers right after, lilacs usually. So dealing with the occasional TV coming on in the middle of the night is worth it for me. It is a very big house, and it is nice to know there is something or someone looking out for me. Besides, if my dog likes them, they cannot be that bad.

Does anyone know of anything strange happening on Cedar Street or Clinton in Wauseon from the late 50s and the 1960s? Very interested in my husband's hometown. Thanks in advance. My email is cinkaaa2 @yahoo.com.
