My family recently moved to Waynesville. We love our little old country house and have never felt scared there despite the strange things we have seen and heard. At first, we only heard footsteps, but gradually other sounds and sightings have happened. Many times we have heard footsteps on the second floor that seem to walk up and down the hallway to the back bedroom where our toddler sleeps. He is in a crib still and does not climb out. gone to investigate, he is always fast asleep. The footsteps are slow, almost deliberate. To be honest, they are almost like a shuffle. They will walk

from the stairway, down the hall to the back bedroom, pause for a while, and then retrace their steps. Sometimes, at night while sleeping in bed, I get the distinct feeling that I am being watched over. I have sat up in bed, half expecting to see an intruder. I am never really ''scared'', but sometimes it is unsettling. Then within a few seconds of being roused out of a deep sleep, I will hear the shuffling footsteps retreat to the back bedroom.
