I've lived in Xenia my entire life, and I'm now 30 years old going on 31. I could be here all night to speak on all the first hand encounters I've had. I get chills as I write this as I'm not blowing smoke. These experiences have changed my perspective of life itself in many ways. I'll speak on 2 incidents.
The first was 3 years ago around the early transition of summer to fall in 2016. It was roughly 3 a.m., and I was walking home from Cox to my parents' house by Xenia High School. I walked through the parking lot of Greene Memorial Hospital hundreds of times in my life, but this night I'll never forget. The entire walk was silent. This night no one was out. It was dark with a new moon turning crescent. The devils moon as I call it.

I got 400 yards from Greene Memorial at exactly 3:02 a.m., and this weird fog rolled in as I walked to the edge of the parking lot, and it dropped temperature a good 30 degrees to the point of making me shiver. As I got to the middle of the parking lot, I saw them. Out of the mist came these phantoms. They were different people trying to reach out to me almost pleading for help. It was dead silent as I stopped and looked at these spirits trying to almost speak to me.

I'll never forget this. A child reached out to me, and I put out my hand and tried to grab his hand. As I touched where the hand should have been, it passed through his hand, and it felt as if I had plunged my hand into an arctic river at 20 below zero. I started to cry. At this point tears were pouring off my face, and the child looked at my tears and looked into my very soul and faded away into nothing. I looked around me, and all of them were just looking through me into my soul, and they all faded to nothing.
As fast as it came, the fog dissipated, and I was left there by myself, crying in the back part of Greene Memorial Hospital at 3:09 a.m. in the morning, and I continued my walk home. Never again did this ever happen to me again the countless times I've journeyed through that parking lot. I'll never know what happened that night, but I felt so powerless because I felt they were spirits of the dead that had passed on but have not yet realized that they were dead.
I wish I could have done more for them. I tried to tell them what had become of them, and they are tragic fate, but I just wonder if it was even real, or if I was the one who was actually lost at that point.
