My parents purchased an old house that had sat vacant for some years next to the fairgrounds in the late 1970s after my father retired. We lived there for a number of years and numerous occurrences happened. My parents never said anything until one night. I was studying for school and noticed a woman's figure pass my door in the unlit hallway going into my parents' room. I figured it was my mom going to bed and needing to ask her a question before she was asleep. I went to her room. Needless to say no one was there.
After I spoke with my parents, they finally confessed they had seen numerous apparitions. It was usually a woman coming down the stairs and going out the front door. My mom has also seen on many occasions objects (silverware/ utensils) disappear while she was cooking only to find them on couches and shelves in other rooms. Looking back we had a dog that would tear around the house barking like it was chasing something only to stop and stare at walls or closet doors and into corners as if something was there. The whole time I lived there, I never felt threatened.
