At the Schick Hospital I have been sneaking around for a few days, not ghost hunting as I'm not from the area. I had no idea until recently that those buildings were ''haunted'' I came here with a passion for historical buildings. Some of the greatest war heroes spent time in those walls. How fascinating! FDR was in this building! Anyway, I can't say I've seen anything negative. I have always had a special connection to the departed. Frankly I felt safe, almost too safe.
One night I was walking in the snow to visit my mother at Eagle Point. It was getting slick, and I was passing the area where people claim to see the headless Charles. I slipped over some mud and ice. It felt as if someone caught me and kept me from getting hurt. Thirty seconds later a woman came around the corner and offered me a ride. I believe many people in this community mistake the spirits here as malevolent, but in all honesty these were the men and women who fought not just for our country but for the world who saved us from the Nazis and Japanese. These spirits aren't here to cause harm. They are heroes, and the people that gave these grounds a bad name should feel ashamed.
These buildings are rotting, and will one day all be gone. That is such a sad fate for such a historical site, a place housing the spirits of our heroes. Maybe instead of being scared and spreading the wrong kind of rumors about the spirits and the grounds, look at it through the eyes of someone who appreciates the lives given to save the world from an evil force. Like all wars the war doesn't end on the battlefield, and the spirits who decided to stay are staying for a reason. Next time you come across this place, smile and say thank you to the heroes of the greatest war in history. .

Comment by Madalynn: I was born in that house. My mom found out she was pregnant with me because of the spirit of the little boy.

Clinton, Iowa used to be the richest city in the country. It was once considered New York. There should be a lot of history on this town, or something is being hidden. I know the house across from the day care on the 5th Avenue North has some very dark history. A man kidnapped a little boy and stuffed him in the cabinet. He would only let him out to violently abuse him. Every family that lives there goes in a downward spiral.
