When I was walking down to see my grandma I saw this little boy tied up on the rope on the tree. He was a nice boy and looked like he was 10 years old.

My great great grandma Minerva was the first white woman to have settled Fredericksburg with her husband Godfrey and her children. My wife and I spent a few nights at the home of the family who currently owns the family homestead.

The Old West Cemetery is where many of my pioneer family are currently resting and could be seen from where we spent the nights during our visit. The first night I felt an uneasiness as I looked out the window knowing who were buried in such a close proximity.

But after that first night I felt a sense of ease which seemed to tell me all was well and I had nothing to worry about. I felt at home and relaxed.
