Comment by Jdog: Part of the above story is true about Children's Park. I grew up only a few houses away from that creek in the 70s and 80s. Nobody ever died there. We did have normal accidents on our bikes but because we were messing around.
The bear cage did have a couple old black bears for a number of years but they got shipped to a zoo and it sat dormant for years until they put some peacocks back in it.
There's a small painted house in the park that's like 4 x 6 feet. I doubt you'd want to live in it. It's for kids only and they built that in the 90s. We spray painted our skateboards in the 80s and used left over paint in and around the culvert you're talking about.

There used to be a duck pond in that park but it's gone now too. You didn't mention that part. The scariest thing that ever happened in the park was the time shift incident but none of us are allowed to talk about it to this very day.
