My grandmother and grandfather owned the little house on Ohio Street in Webster City, IA when I was a child. In fact my grandfather Harry Evans died of a heart attack in that house. My little brother and I used to spend every summer with my grandmother Shirley and her second husband Don.
One summer when I was around seven or eight years old, a tornado was coming. Grandma was on the main floor, and Don was listening to the storm radio on the

stairs to the basement, and my brother and I were exploring the creepy basement. When we found a crawl space opening next to the hot water heater, we
|
crawled through and entered a dimly lit room with red lighting. It was filled with two to three feet tall China dolls around the outer walls and on a fancy stand in the middle of the room.
My brother and I left the room and asked grandma why she had so many China dolls. She had no idea what we were talking about, so we took her downstairs, but the opening in the wall wasn't there.
