The former Lutheran church is most certainly haunted. I used to go there as a kid and during Lent we'd have evening services in the church followed by a fellowship meal in the basement. Even though we were supposed to stay downstairs and visit with the older folks (and eat bad jello with carrot shavings on top and a dollop of miracle whip) we always snuck upstairs and played hide and seek in the sanctuary keeping an ear open for the pastor who didn't

like us being up there.
Well one night I went upstairs to the back loft where the organist played her tied thumb-mangled songs week by week. It was

said that an old lady by the name of sharmy had died up there in the 1950's.
Sharmy was a fat old lady who had every song you could ever imagine memorized and she was supposed to like the deacon who was tall young and thin--an army vet with a ram-rod bearing and a polite way of interacting with the ladies.
Anyway he was called up to fight in the Korean war and he got sniped by a Chinese bullet and never came home (they buried him in St. Paul). Well the sharmy organists
