Comment by anonymous: Yes the girl Kathleen was murdered in the middle school band room, at the time the middle school was the high school. Me and my friend were actually at the school late one night after a band concert in the band room alone putting our stuff away and we heard a door slam, a piano play, and a cold breeze.
We got out of there as fast as we could.
Comment by Highway 33 gal: I was a young girl living in Cloquet at the time that the young girl was killed in the middle school band room, and remember that it was someone from Big Lake Road who killed her.
Comment by Highway 33 gal: It happened on the morning of November 17th. 1966. She was only 14 and her killer was 15 and he had no remorse for the murder. Also I remember the Prevost Girl that got murdered by someone who used to come to my aunt's house and hang out with my cousins.

Comment by Karen: Susan Poferl was the girl killed and found in the river near the forestry station.... Her name was not Prevost.
Comment by Karen: Susan's father would walk up and down his street all night so worried about his daughter when she was missing. Such a sad ending. Susan was underage and had been to the Cloquet labor temple for an evening of fun. They had live music back then. After this happened everyone was carded for age.
Comment by Anonymous: About the girl murdered in the band room, no one had told me about it until this year in the new school. I had always noticed something off in the band room as I frequented it from QOP to go to band. One window had some scratches on it, and the room was unnaturally cold. One time when I was waiting in there for my lesson my case slammed shut on its own. The latches were broken after that, but when I said why they were broken people shoved it off. It was weird and freaked me out because I had never heard of the murder.
