That day always haunted me, seeing my parents crumpled on the floor crying. In the late 60s and early 70s I had been visited at night by a woman whom I had always thought was my mom checking in on me. However, I quickly realized it was not her. It was 1974 when my mom remarried after my father passed away. We built a house near Ely Lake, Fayal Township.

my stepfather's daughter. She was hysterical. Her husband was killed in a car accident between Eveleth and Gilbert. My parents left immediately. Now alone

with my dog, I was sitting on the couch watching the one to two channels that came in on the TV. To tell you the truth, I was scared.
I will never forget that night. Living in the basement of our home was somewhat cool. We had sheets hanging for make shift walls to separate our sleeping area, and our unfinished fireplace sat in the middle of the room. My dog made a whimper, and I looked up to see this woman.
