As she walked towards me I noticed there were no feet. In a blink of an eye, she moved quickly behind the fireplace through the doorway where I kept my model train-set. I was terrified. I high-tailed it out of the basement past the room this woman had just gone in. I ran up the stairs, lifted up the plywood

trap door, and it slammed shut behind me. I was in total darkness. I proceeded into what would become the kitchen. In those days the phone were installed

before we had enclosed walls, and cold wind zipped through the stud walls. As I glared at the wall and finally made out where the phone was, the moonlight was bright enough for me to make out the numbers on the dial of the phone.
After a few tries I reached my brother. He lived in Virginia. I told him what I had seen, and I pleaded with him to come out to the house. When I saw the lights of his car pull into the driveway, I was relieved. I am now
