I happen to live in Kandiyohi and in one of the oldest houses too. The main room was built back in the 1800s the rest added on later, but throughout the time I've lived there four apparitions have been seen, one where I had a friend over, (we were younger) and we had just watched a horror movie. Like the kids that we were, we decided to sleep in my mom's room after the movie finished (my mother's room is now my room).
At 3:00 am on the dot my friend

awoke to a man stroking my mother's hair. (No men were living in the house at the time. ) My mother who was asleep suddenly mumbled ''yes, Chad. '' From

that point on the ghost has been known as Chad and often got violent with men that seemed to pose a threat to me and my mother. A couple of years later my sister has her boyfriend over, and in the middle of the night he awoke to see a tall figure wearing cowboy attire asking what he was doing there, and my sister's boyfriend (let's call him Zack) replied with ''I swear my intentions are pure. '' Let's just say Zack didn't last long.
