In the fall of 1968 during a great October day my friends and myself were going to the Sleepy Eye ball Park to pretend we were going to be playing in the fall classic. All of us wanted to be pro baseball players playing in the world series. As we were walking to the ball field I noticed a blue galaxy 500 Ford car parked in the grass next to the field. A man wearing a plaid red shirt red baseball cap and blue jeans was leaning up next to the car.

We waved at each other. As we walked into the ball Park he walked to across the field and sat down next to a big tree. He put his cap down over his face and stretched out his legs crossed his arms and he nodded off.

After we were done playing baseball I saw he hadn't moved. Of course all of my friends and myself were noisy. He awoke. He lifted up his cap and smiled at me. I waved to him. He put his cap over his face a fell back to sleep. We all walked home. I never gave him a second thought. The next day (this was mea weekend. Teachers had their state conferences so we had a Thursday and Friday off from school. ) we went back to play more baseball. As we walked up to the ball Park I saw the blue car still parked in the same spot. But the man that I saw was not there. I couldn't see him sitting in the car. He wasn't standing or sleeping by the tree.
