There is an old Colonial home on 13th. I would go there with my parents to visit someone they knew. I never saw anything, but I always felt like I was being watched. My mom told me the person that lived there also felt that way. They would talk about doors shutting on their own and the sound of someone walking up the stairs. Submitted by Tom

In the 70s my mom on occasion would shop at Ketola's in Virginia, MN. Here is a little history of this building. It had always been a department store on the first couple of floors. On the third floor the Masonic Lodge had its first temple, moving to another location in 1912, prior to that it was a live theater.

Getting back to my story, my mom was in the women's dressing room, and I was sitting in a chair just outside of the door. I noticed a strange looking door and decided to look what was inside. It led to a large staircase, and the room was a glow because the sunlight was streaming through the mesh; covering that was wrapping the outside of the building. On the top floor was a landing with large wooden doors. I reluctantly opened the main doors and swung them open. The sunlight seemed to light up a corridor into the dark room. I could make out auditorium seating, a stage and large reddish colored curtain. I heard a voice coming from the room to ''Get Out!'' I quickly ran back down the stairs.
Years later as an adult, my sister-in-law told me she was an employee at Ketola's department store. I asked if she knew about the room upstairs. I was surprised when she told me it was a live theater in the early years. They would use it for holiday display storage and mannequins. She said it was a beautiful room with chairs and balcony. It had beautiful woodwork and lights.
The China Buffet uses the main level for the restaurant now. A waitperson told me there is a hidden staircase behind the wall in the restaurant to the second level; that is the staircase I remember using. There is also another entrance from the alley and the back of the kitchen. Submitted by Brian.
