I am a lifelong resident of Wabasha and have had too many paranormal experiences here to count. Many took place out of town in the Zumbro Bottoms Management Unit, where there is rumored to be a Native American burial ground. Many of the spirits that I saw with my eyes appeared to be Native American in origin. In addition, I spent a couple of years working at the Historic Anderson House Hotel/B&B, where there is a spirit named Sarah. The tale goes that she had

come up the Mississippi via steamboat and was to await her fiancé. When he did not arrive on schedule Sara worried. Then she heard that the steamboat

he was to arrive on suffered a terrible fire, and many lives were lost. She was so devastated that she took her own life. Sadly, it was all for naught, as her fiancé arrived a week later. He was not on the steamboat that had the fire. Sarah is not alone at the Anderson House either. I personally saw a full bodied apparition of Grandma Anderson at the front desk in broad day light.
