Not just the barking, but it would be looking right at something that seemingly wasn't there and not toward the door or whatever that could have been explained from something happening outside. We also had cats that would hiss at things none of us could see the same way as the dog.

I lived in Hamilton for 6 years. The park known as River Front Park has a large crooked tree that is a pretty common hangout amongst younger crowds. One day while sitting in this tree (after being chased up it by a moose) my friend and I heard this horrifying chanting. It was a very high pitched Native American like chanting.
It sounded like it was coming from all around us. We jumped from the tree and booked it. Later that year while wandering in the woods past the river we saw something terrifying... An old hag like woman with grey skin and sunken in dark eyes with a hate filled grimace; she had long white hair and was pointing at us.
