been a dream, and maybe it was. This was not one of the mornings when it required Herculean effort to wake up; neither at dawn when I saw the vision, nor later when I got up.
If it was a ghost presence in this apartment, it wasn't a very nice presence as it may have been responsible for sometimes immobilizing me and for causing me to argue with my roommate. I was glad to move out of there.

As a UM student in 1983- 1984, I rented the upstairs apartment in the house at the northwest corner of Eddy and Ronald Streets, one block from Hellgate High School. One day my roommate had a story about having awakened in the middle of the night and saw and sensed a line of people filing up the stairs into our apartment turning left past her bedroom and disappearing a few steps later before reaching the bathroom at the end of the hall. She said they were coming in from the rain as it was a rainy night outside. I think she said they were older/middle aged not college-aged like us. That was the only year we lived there, and I never witnessed any such thing myself.

Fast forward 5 years and a friend and I were talking not about strange occurrences just about the many places around Missoula that we had lived as students. I said I had lived on Eddy Street one block from Hellgate High. He said he did too. I said I lived in the house on the corner. He said ''he lived in the house with the spiral staircase on the outside, so tenants could access the upstairs apartment.'' Unprompted he said “That place was SO haunted.” He didn’t elaborate, but I said that I recalled that house with the spiral staircase next door to where I had lived. I told him my roommate’s story of the ghosts coming in from the rain. I have since heard the stories about hauntings at Hellgate High and wonder if these occurrences are all related (same neighborhood). .

We live up in the Farviews just below Pattee Canyon. We purchased our house in 1993 and knew immediately something about it was different. It is occupied by not only our family but many spirits as well. Anyone who visits is guaranteed to see orbs, hear voices coming from the walls, and feel a static charge in every room. It's not a threatening presence but quite the opposite. Everyone always describes a ''comforting'' feeling. One evening there were hundreds of orbs literally 'pouring' out of one spot on the wall. It's almost as if the house is somewhat of a portal. Spirits are constantly passing through. It's definitely strange stuff.
