I told my dad who grew up in the neighborhood about the ghost and he recognized him said something to the effect of that sounds like old Slab Stanley .

A man drowned in the Bitterroot River west of town in the 1920s. Most people thought he was murdered but officially he wasn't. He's still seen crawling out of the river right at about sunrise. He might have died at sunrise no way of knowing since he'd been there a while. Scary thing to see!.
