Before my father passed on he had shared a story that he had heard many times from his grandmother and grandfather that took place in Mapleton. He had told me that my great grandfather had worked on one of the many Dalrymple farms located around the area.
Also working on the farm was the Kordovsky family a father mother and their 7 year old son Donald. One day in June it was blistering hot and Donald asked his parents if he could go to the river

to fish.
His parents allowed him to and my grandfather remembers how excited Donald was and how he ran off with his fishing pole and a spoon. Several

hours went by before Donald's mother went to check on him but when she attempted to find him she ran back to the farm house yelling that she couldn't find him.
As many people were summoned as possible to search for dear little Donald but he was never seen again. All that was turned up was the spoon he had taken with him to dig for worms. My father then told me that both of his grandparents on separate occasions had seen a small boy walking
