I've gone to the Gary blind school around three or four times. It's definitely a scary place but I don't think it's haunted. I've gone in small groups and bigger groups and every time someone claims to see something and gets freaked out.

One time the cops came by (obviously to see who's trespassing) and we all had to hide. I ended up hiding in one of those underground tunnels by myself for about 10 minutes with nothing but the backlight on my cell phone to find my way back out.

One of the buildings is three stories and you can tell by the graffiti that very few people go beyond the first floor. The wooden floors are rotted and have holes in them from water damage, so I can see why nobody wants to go up.
I went all the way to the top and was checking out the top floor when my friends down below started screaming at me to get out of there. They were outside looking up and claimed to see a ghostly figure in the window of the floor I was exploring.
The window they were talking about was in the far corner opposite from the stairwell I had used to go up there so it definitely was not me since I only took about two steps before running out of there.
