There is a haunted house on West Cedar. It was a big yellow house behind the old subway building. My family experienced scratching in the walls and a disembodied growl coming from the basement. The scariest thing if you ask me is the one night I was asleep in the living room, and my dog (German Shepherd) was sleeping next to me. Then the basement door opened and slammed hard by itself. Both my dog and I jumped out of our skin. This happened a lot. Eventually I ended up sticking a knife in the door to keep it from opening. Side note: the door closed fully. There is no problem on its own. You would have to turn the knob to open it.

On the fourth of July in 2016 my friend and I were going to my stepdad's brother's house out in the country. We were down in the basement and started playing pool. When I went to go put the pool sticks away I noticed an x going through it. I showed my friend, and she didn't believe me. She thought I put it there. I went upstairs to get a family member, and I showed them. They said that is was just a part of the house, and it was not the proxy symbol. Then I pointed out that there was not supposed to be an ''o.'' Then they looked at me, changed the subject, and went back upstairs.

My friend and I went and looked around a bit more and found seven other symbols and smeared handprints. We decided to forget about it. Finally after the fireworks show we were running around. She then stopped and kept saying that she saw the operator. Ever since then we have been coughing a lot and getting severe headaches. We can't explain why only us two have these symptoms.

I lived in Mitchell for I think 3-4 years. When we first moved there I was in the 4th grade, and we lived in the like apartment above a store on Main Street. After we first moved in there I would walk into the kitchen, and in the corner of my eye I would see a ghost who was a female wearing a short sleeve yellow shirt and some jeans. She had black medium length hair. I would always see her in the kitchen every day. I finally asked the owner if there was ever a ghost, and she said yes, and her name was Jennifer!.
