up again at the bench with both eyes, facing it, and no one was at the bench. This went on three or four times. I could not see him looking directly at him. However, I could see him out of the corner of my eye, as real as you or me, like a flesh and blood man. I wasn't scared at all. He wasn't menacing in any way. I'm not even sure he knew anyone else (living) was there.
I told my friend ''Don't freak out, but there is a man sitting on that bench.

You can't see him if you look right at him, but I can see him sitting over there as I'm telling you this,'' and I went on to describe him. She could not

see him, and she said ''Mel, you're scaring me. '' I dropped it, and we left. I've never seen him again. I figured he died in the flood. There were a lot of houses in that area along the creek when the big flood came through. His clothing, to me, seemed to fit that era. Submitted by Mel

In the fall of 2001 I moved into a house in a small community. I lived there for a year or so, but while there I had an experience that I was pretty used to. My girlfriend Audra and I were getting ready for our wedding in November. We just moved from a house that we believed to be extremely haunted and thought that we got away from it. One night (sometime in September) I was sitting outside smoking a cigarette. It was not late, and we had a little area in our backyard set up as a patio but on the grass. While out there I was enjoying the cool air and the awesome view of Rapid City. Then I saw what I thought was someone staring at me from the bushes on the side of the hill. I did not think too much of it at first because when it was nice weather I was told by a neighbor that the local homeless would camp on the side of the hill where we lived. I told my fiancé later that night, and she was not too happy. She was hoping we had left all the spooky stuff behind at my first house. I let it go, and a few days went by. I started to notice things at night like our lawn chairs would be turned to face outwards, or the table would be moved towards the front door. I wanted to keep all that from my fiancé until after our wedding.
