I grew up on the 1800 block of Yates. The house had been rebuilt after a fire where an old man and dog were killed. His wife rebuilt it, and soon after she died in the hospital. My family moved in, and we lived there for fourteen years. In the years we were there each of us had ''issues.'' I would often see a man in the hall; my father would always see a woman in the bedroom, and my brother would always hear the dog in the basement. Once we were playing

Another time we would hear the dishes rattle in the sink.

Once I had a friend over, and we were alone in the basement, and the chairs were sliding around on the kitchen floor above us. Then one night we were sneaking food from the kitchen to my bedroom, and we both saw a woman in the rocking chair. I thought we were busted by my mother. We put our heads down expecting to get chewed out only to look back up, and she was gone. My parents knew the previous owners before they died, so they would always tell me
