Most of the houses that are left in the village are either the original or are built on the sites of the old houses. This being said strange things always happen in and around the village, so most people don't notice the ones left behind unless you are the type that is open to them.
The house I live in now has been in my family since 1938. I see figures all the time, but I am used to them. Like most places, the house I live in was built as needed,

the first part in the 1840s and second in 1876. The second floor was maybe built that same year, the winter and summer kitchens after that with the bathroom
|
added in 1900.
Someone walks from the parlor into the bedroom by the bathroom, as well as a dark haired person pears around the corner into the winter kitchen. I see these people only in peripheral vision, so when I turn to look directly at them they are gone. I only get scared when my own family are in my side vision and are still there when I look directly at them.
