Have you heard about the legend of New Glarus Woods? There was once a sawmill on the property where locals would get lumber to build the town. There was a man who worked at the sawmill. One day he leaned in to grab a tool, and he fell on the saw, and he was cut in half. Nowadays campers at the State Park occasionally see a ghostly apparition of a man with no legs. Sometimes those legs themselves can also be seen, but they are never together. Submitted

I visited New Glarus in September of 2014 with my sister and two other women. It was a very lovely town, and we had a wonderful time. We stayed one night at a local hotel. We had a lovely room which accommodated the four of us. Falling asleep quickly, I was awakened by the specter of a young man with dark short hair in a turtleneck sweater standing over my bed trying to touch me with his hand. I woke up in a paralyzed state of terror trying to stop his hand from touching me. Then he disappeared. Another woman in the room saw this apparition also. It was very frightening. The next morning I asked the desk clerk if anyone had reported seeing an apparition in this room. Of course she said no. I will still go back to visit this quaint town. Or should I?????.
