Autumn ~twilight~ 2003: After I had completed sweeping washing and waxing the wooden 3rd floor ballroom of the mansion located at 7th and Michigan Avenue. I placed all of my supplies in the hallway built in 1907. I decided to stand on the plush burgundy carpet to relax and admire my work before carrying everything down to the basement. I worked by myself everyday in silence. I would've been able to hear if the owner or maintenance man entered. Only 3 of us had access.

It used to be a Bed and Breakfast (ended 2004). Within seconds of myself letting out a ''whew'' to myself for my work finally completed, I heard distinct footsteps upon the ballroom floor. It sounded as if a couple was dancing non-stop in front of me. There were no apparitions, only the sounds on the floor top. It was like his deceased relatives decided to dance again now that the floor was finally properly cleaned.

Before that I had only dry dusted it. Yup. Not joking. No bs. I stayed only approximately one full minute to ascertain a logical explanation. Not finding one, I scrambled in a sprint down those stairs and home. I told my boss I will never clean the 3rd floor nor enter the ballroom when I gave tours as a docent ever again. He always told me ''never tell anyone it's haunted. I want it to always be known as a couple's retreat''.
