I remember when I was a about 9 or 10 years old our church had a picnic at Grant Park. The church picnic ended when the sun started to set but we were still free to roam the park because it wasn't closed yet. Although I don't remember the exact time I remember the colors of the sky of how it changed to a dark navy color from when the sun was setting. Since my family was pretty big and it was getting dark my parents were trying to gather everyone before we left the park.

Irritated from the older kids trying playfully drown me in the water and eager to go home to change clothes I volunteered to go look for some of my family members that were possibly at the playground trail or the beach.

So I looked at the playground and made my way to the stairs going to the bridge that was near the beach. I heard voices coming from the beach but there was nobody present so I made my way back up to my parents van hoping that everyone was now waiting for me. While I was walking I started hearing some rattling sounds in the woods like there was a big animal. With the sky beginning to blacken and me being by myself I got scared and started to run making my way back up the stairs. I kept running and running until I realized that I have been running for a long time on the trail without seeing the stairs or any path that lead me out of the woods. The path started out curvy then turned into a straight path for which I felt like I ran for 10 to 15 minuets.
