In the early 1970s we lived in the most haunted house I've ever heard of. It was on Beverly Street in Barrington, IL. We would routinely hear people falling down the wooden staircase at night, hear doors slamming, find the door chain in a knot and drawn across the lock, which is impossible without taking out the screws, etc. We also saw an entity in tux and tails and looking out our kitchen window before he disappeared. Also, whenever we said the word ''death''

or mentioned someone who died, the lights would flicker on and off. It scared our guests so badly that none of them would come over anymore.

also heard things dragging in the attic, had things like paintbrushes disappear and reappear in other areas of the house, heard glasses crashing and spilling, but found no glasses had broken or fallen. We also had wasps instantly covering my crib during the day and in the wintertime. My mom put me down for a nap and then turned around because I was crying only to find my entire crib covered in wasps... Maybe five seconds time. It locked me in the bathroom
