I've always been a little skeptic about ghosts and hauntings but after my experience on Cuba road I am a firm believer that there is definitely paranormal activity on Cuba road. I was a flagger who stood on Cuba road for nearly three months when it was being redone in summer of 2005.
While flagging I had no idea that the street was haunted. I used to move along the road according to the work that was going on and then I would turn around and find a landmark such as a particular house mailbox etc to make sure I didn't move from my spot.

One day I turned around and noticed I was in front of a large old grayish-white house with ivy on the side. There's several homes on this road that look this way so nothing was new. When I turned around again nothing was there.

I thought I moved too far and the house next door was further away. I thought I was losing my mind and I went about my day however I kept my experience in the back of my mind.... The mind I thought I was losing.
There would be bright sunny days where all of a sudden the hair on the back of my neck would stand up and I couldn't understand why. Other days there would be a particular smell. It smelled like something very funky and musty.
Then it would go away. After the job was finished I happened to be at Barnes and Noble in deer Park and I noticed the front table had a featured book called haunted Illinois. For some reason I picked it up and perused through it.
