I bought a fixer upper in Belvidere in late 2010. Being an old house I figured it has had many souls pass through it's doors. Construction began immediately and it stirred up the spirits. With every project the activity got more intense.

Tools went missing, odd perfume and pipe tobacco odors, unexplained knocking and faint voices. I had two carpenters quit on me. I then found out from my neighbors the previous owner had passed in the parlor.
My husband was working alone one afternoon and saw a shadowy figure pass through the dining room wall. That is when we brought in a paranormal research team to investigate. Equipment malfunctions, brand new batteries were dead, and everybody who took part had an experience.
Their ovilus kept repeating the word ''flood'' and sure enough six days later my drain had to be rooted... It had backed up into the house! After listening to the EVPs I heard what sounded like coughing and the words ''brass ashes''.
